About This Site
This website is an extension of Professor Robert Korstad's site featuring Human Rights in North Carolina at the Franklin Institute, and was created by two Duke University undergraduate students, Julia Spinnenweber and Marcela Heywood. The site is meant to bring attention to the female leaders in the Civil Rights Movement that often go unrecognized. We hope to spark future discussion of these important women and other female insurgents.
